The front of the US Embassy compound is a good place to start walking Roxas Boulevard. Trees shade the pathway. But the place is not for taking pictures or hanging around. The portion that preserved its frontage is Manila Baywalk, famous for viewing the sunset. Baywalk has become a center for night life. Right before sunset, restaurants start opening with their own live bands which adds pleasure to dining with colorful lights.

Roxas Boulevard is a prime highway along Manila Bay. It was named after former President Manuel Roxas, the first President after Philippine Independence in 1946. It is the main thoroughfare from the Manila Airport to the Ermita-Malate tourist district. Hotels, office buildings and restaurants dominate the land side until the south end at EDSA, the main highway in Manila.

The Walled City of Manila Intramuros is a medieval fortress at the center of Manila. Its thick, high walls enclosed the city for more than 300 years. For more than 300 years Intramuros was Manila. It was the center of almost everything in the Philippines. Filipino culture and traditions evolved from here.
Intramuros was built as Manila expanded. High walls, forts and bulwarks stretched 4.5 kilometers and enclosed 64 hectares. And moats surrounded the walls. Gates with drawbridges closed before midnight and opened at dawn.

The Coconut Palace is made of several Philippine hardwoods, coconut shells, and a specially engineered coconut lumber apparently known as Imelda Madera.

The palace is shaped like an octagon (the shape given a coconut before being served), the roof is shaped like a traditional Filipino salakot or hat. Some of its highlights are the 101 coconut shell chandelier, and the dining table made of 40,000 tiny pieces of inlaid coconut shells.From the coconut's roots to its trunk, bark, fruit, flower and shell, the palace's design, form and ornamentation echo these elements.

Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas (Folk Arts Theater)
The Tanghalang Francisco Balagtas, more commonly known by its original name of Folk Arts Theater, this covered proscenium ampitheater is where popular concerts are usually staged. It has a seating capacity of 8,458 in ten sections. The theater takes its name form Francisco Baltazar also known as Francisco Balagtas, revered as one of the country's greatest poets. Florante at Laura is one of his best known and most beloved works and his poetry Balagtasismo has shaped generations of Filipino poets. The popular debate in verse, balagtasan is also named after him.

A 35,000-square meter area located at the heart of CCP Complex in Pasay City, Star City is the country’s premiere theme park.
It contracted the services of these foreign experts to provide their competence in the fields of amusement, retail, and attractions. Star City evolved to its current grandeur from its successful stint at the Philippine Center for International Trade and Exhibitions.

Today, it is tagged as the Entertainment Center of the Philippines which saw the innovative fusion of ballet and circus magic blending marvelously well with the family fun atmosphere found only at Star City.

Metropolitan Museum of Manila is located in the Central Bank Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Manila and showcases oil and acrylic paintings done by various Filipino and international artists. Some of the collection is on loan from different museums abroad. The Senate of the Philippines (Filipino: Senado ng Pilipinas) is the upper chamber of the bicameral legislature of the Philippines, the Congress of the Philippines. Unlike the U.S. Senate, the Philippine Senate is composed of 24 senators who do not represent any particular geographical district.
